Cylinder Head Assembly

A couple weekends ago, we assembled the cylinder head on Mr. Fiat. Thanks to Mr. A's supply of special Fiat tools Ð valve adjustment tool and a boatload of shims Ð it went together very smoothly. We also pulled the flywheel off the old engine, exposing a brand spanking new clutch and pressure plate we had installed about 1-year ago. I don't think it saw 500 miles before my Mom switched to her Miata. The flywheel was sent off to the machine shop for a light surfacing and a bit of lightening, so we now everything we need to build-up the bottom end.

I also received a late birthday gift from my folks, in the form of a lightweight aluminum racing jack that has been advertised in the Harbor Freight flyers recently. I'm pleasantly suprised by the quality of the jack, as it uses hi-grade fasteners, and features a stout two-piece aluminum handle. It weighs in at 35 pounds complete with handle, which is less than half of the big orange monster floor jack I have been carrying to races with me.
